Who are we? An affiliate of Dunlap Rec Sports, the Dunlap Youth lacrosse programs was developed to teach the sport of lacrosse to boys and girls grades k-8.

What do we offer? Our program offers a fun team environment where players can discover and develop lacrosse skills. Teams in the Dunlap Youth Lacrosse Program participate in the IBLA/IGLA and will travel throughout central illinois for games.

Why are we here? Originally the Dunlap Youth Lacrosse Program was designed to feed the high school program, which it still does. As the program has developed, we have sought opportunities to further develop our players and coaches to compete across Illinois. Currently we are focused on fostering a fun environment where all participants can discover, learn, and advance via the sport of lacrosse.

What happens in the future? All participants with our program will get older and go on to high school but not all will be lacrosse players. For that reason, our program focuses on developing the individual. If they choose to continue with the sport, we will have also provided a fun and safe environment to enhance their skills.

The purpose of Dunlap Youth Lacrosse is to provide a fun, and challenging development lacrosse program for boys and girl in grades K – 8 that teaches the skills to compete and excel at the game, while furthering the advancement of lacrosse in Central Illinois. Dunlap Youth Lacrosse is dedicated to the skill development of the game without emphasis on a team's winning record.  Dunlap Youth Lacrosse will endeavor to instill the values of sportsmanship, respect, teamwork, fair play and a love of the sport of lacrosse for players, coaches and officials.

In addition to teaching the fundamental skills necessary to play the sport, we will work to teach the strategies and teamwork necessary to master the sport, and emphasize the 4-C’s of Character:

1) Class

2) Commitment

3) Courage and

4) Compassion

We will strive to instill in our youth the challenge of competition, the joy of victory, the reality of defeat, the importance of commitment and the spirit of community. We believe these values and virtues are important to the growth of young athletes, and to their ability to become active and successful members of our community and society.  These goals will be achieved through organizing our caring parents, dedicated volunteers and business associates who wish to partner with our great youth sport program.
